BATON ROUGE – Scott Uffman, a professional with over 25 years’ experience in the sales operations and business management field, has been newly appointed as the Business Development Director of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership of Louisiana.
Effective August 28, Uffman will act as support for MEPOL as it works to help all Louisiana manufacturers grow and compete. As business development director, he will lead efforts to analyze customer needs and provide technical consulting to help them grow into high performance organizations.
“MEPOL is excited to bring an additional member on the team who is growth-focused with a talent for assessing businesses to determine areas of improvement for Louisiana’s manufacturers,” said Mike Wolff, director of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership of Louisiana.
MEPOL is operated by LCTCS in partnership with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and a national network of Manufacturing Extension Partnerships, based in every state. MEPOL provides a full range of services to manufacturers, including growth and cost-reduction strategies, website development and branding, process and quality improvement, engineering and prototyping, facility layout and leadership training. All activities are focused on increasing productivity, profitability and manufacturing success. MEPOL also can connect manufacturers to workforce development services offered by all 13 LCTCS colleges.
“Entrepreneurial spirit is why Louisiana manufacturers were born and they need a resource to guide them like a partner. My experience working with small- to medium-size second stage companies is aligned with MEPOL’s mission and what manufacturers need to know. I hope my role at MEPOL can inspire a company to pursue tremendous creativity and innovation, through engaging business leadership to work on their businesses and be firmly behind those lofty endeavors to grow and prosper,” Uffman stated.
