Cybersecurity Risk Management
The MEP of Louisiana and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) hosted a Cybersecurity Event on November 1st, 2017 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Participants learned about and discussed how manufacturers and businesses are being targeting, identified risks and vulnerabilities, responded to attacks and understood the NIST SP 800-171 assessment and implementation requirements for contractors and subcontractors in defense supply chains who must meet the DFARS Clause cyberseucity regulations for DoD contracts that have a December 31st, deadline.
The NIST Cybersecurity Framework, created through collaboration between government & private sector, uses common language to address and manage cybersecurity risk in a cost-effective way based on business needs – without placing additional regulatory requirements on businesses.
The Framework Core: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover.
